By downloading or using Scriptum, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app. Scriptum is made by ANNR Studio, based in the Netherlands. You must be at least 16 to use it.
Scriptum is provided for your own personal use. You agree not to reverse engineer it, to work around the subscription check or the rate limit, to use the Clean Up endpoint through anything other than the Scriptum app, or to use the app in any way that breaks the law.
Everything you write, draw, photograph or dictate into Scriptum is yours. We claim no licence over it and no right to look at it.
Scriptum stores your journal on your phone. If you lose the phone, reset it, or delete the app without a backup, your journal is gone and we cannot recover it, because we never had a copy. Settings includes an export; using it now and then is a good idea.
Clean Up is part of Scriptum Complete. It tidies an entry you have written or spoken, and it runs only when you tap it.
Three things to be clear about. It sends that entry off your device — the text goes to our server and on to Anthropic, whose model produces the result, as described in our Privacy Policy. The result is generated by a language model, and models get things wrong: it may alter your meaning or drop something, so Scriptum shows you the result before anything replaces what you wrote, and you decide. Please read it, and do not rely on Clean Up where accuracy matters legally, medically or financially. And it depends on services we do not run, so if Anthropic or Cloudflare is unavailable, Clean Up is unavailable; everything else in Scriptum keeps working.
Scriptum is free to use. Scriptum Complete is an optional upgrade, offered as an auto-renewing subscription — monthly or yearly — or as Lifetime, a one-off purchase that is not a subscription and does not renew.
Purchases are managed through the App Store or Google Play. Payment is charged to your account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and the renewal is charged within 24 hours of that period ending. You can manage or cancel a subscription in your device's account settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies, not by us — we cannot refund a payment we did not take. Where a free trial is offered, any unused part of it is forfeited if you buy during the trial. As an EU consumer, by buying and immediately using Complete you ask for delivery to begin at once and accept that the 14-day right of withdrawal ends there; this does not affect your rights if what you received is faulty.
Scriptum is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service, and we do not promise that Clean Up will produce a result you like. Nothing here limits your statutory rights as a consumer, or our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not permit to be limited.
This section applies to Scriptum on the App Store, and Apple requires it.
This agreement is between you and ANNR Studio; Apple is not a party to it. We, not Apple, are solely responsible for Scriptum and its content. Apple has no obligation to provide support for Scriptum — support requests go to admin@annrstudio.com. If Scriptum fails to conform to any warranty, you may tell Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price; beyond that, Apple has no other warranty obligation. We, not Apple, are responsible for any claim that Scriptum does not conform to legal requirements, for product liability claims, and for any claim of intellectual property infringement. You confirm you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as terrorist-supporting, and that you are not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
How Scriptum handles your data is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
These terms are governed by the law of the Netherlands. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the EU, you keep the protection of any mandatory consumer rules of your own country.
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated terms. A change that reduces what you get for what you have already paid does not apply to a period you have already paid for.
